July 13: First Day of Travel

We have spent the first night and are finally ready to leave the country. Janie and I (Anna) have already decided we are soul mates for life. We are particularly excited because of our desire to work in Africa in the near future. The 16 hour flight is not something to be elated about but the destination is too exciting to let it damper our spirits. We are so ready. Let's close our eyes and be there. Anna and Janie

So far, the trip hasn't left the country so some still haven't gotten our first taste of africa, but we've all already started to get to know each other. Last nighth Paul, Conor, and I (Cameron) went to see a movie and it was very good, so it's a good start to the trip and getting to know each other. At the moment we're not looking forward to the 16 hour flight but we've gotta get there somehow. Cameron

Really looking forward to our epic trip - although (speaking as a big fan of aviation) 16 hours in a metal tube is a bit too much of a good thing. I'm especially looking forward to meeting up with my fellow Brits tommorrow in Jo'burg, especially as I once worked in a parish in the Diocese of Newcastle. I've just spent a little time rehearsing songs, hymns and Taize chants on the piano so that we will be ready to be fantastic musicians just like our brothers and sisters in Botswana. Pula! (that's Setswana for hi 5) Nils

Last night we all got to know each other then Hayley, Blythe and I bonded over Pretty Little Liars and Harry Potter. we are all so excited to be in Africa but are skeptical about the 16 hour flight. Peace out. Mary Peyton, Blythe, and Hayley

I am looking forward to traveling to Botswana, meeting a lot of new people, and eating some new food. I will pass the time on the 16-hour flight watching the tv show Breaking Bad, re-reading Jurassic Park, and trying not to think about the conclusion of the Harry Potter movies. I cannot wait to get there! Tim

Prepare to fly. Objective: being a vegetable. Destination: far far away. South Africa here we Episcopalians come!
